There are 24 words in the puzzle. This is a general knowledge quiz based on characters and events.
As an active learning activity, this is designed to challenge students. It could be used as an in-class activity or as a homework assignment. I find that students enjoy the crossword format, and they view it as more fun than other assignment tasks/activities.
This is a summary quiz. It is designed to be used after reading the story. I've written the clues with as much detail as possible, so that students will remember key facts. You could use it as a revision exercise to help jog students' memories of characters and events.
