A Cinderella Christmas can be performed as a dramatic production or as a Reader's Theater. There are speaking lines for 14 people as well as additional roles for Christmas carolers. In this story, Cinderella plays her traditional role only it's Christmas. When her wicked stepmother, Eleonore, gets upset that Cinderella can't find last year's Christmas tree, she insists that Cinderella come up with a tree. Ironically, it ends up being the Grinch who helps Cinderella find a tree and get rid of her cold hearted stepmother and stepsisters.
For teachers needing more roles, additional narrators could easily be added, and any number of Christmas carolers can be included.
Whether used for a Dramatic Production or Reader's Theater, this play would be excellent for teaching Tone, Mood and Theme in writing.
