Looking for a low-prep, hands-on way to spice up your grammar lessons? Try ¡A Clasificar!, my new word sorting activity for your Spanish classes. In this activity, your students will sort the given list of 30 basic Spanish words into four categories: masculine, feminine, singular, and plural. You can practice all four categories, or just two at a time (to practice all four, print the charts two per page). You could easily adapt this activity for other vocabulary, simply by providing your own list.
This activity works well individually, or in small groups and would be a great introductory activity (by using inductive reasoning), application, or review. Although designed for use in level one, it could also be used as a review of Spanish 1. Please download the preview to get a better idea of the graphic organizers and vocabulary included (in the preview, all the organizers are on one page, but in the paid version they are one per page).
