Looking for a low-prep, hands-on way to spice up your grammar lessons? Try ¡A Clasificar!, my new word sorting activity for practicing the present tense of -er verbs with your Spanish classes. In this activity, your students will sort the given list of 36 conjugated verbs into six categories: yo, tú, él/ella/usted, nosotros, vosotros, and ellos/ellas/ustedes. You could easily adapt this activity for other words, simply by providing your own list. The verbs practiced in this set are beber, leer, comprender, comer, correr, and aprender.
This activity works well individually, or in small groups and would be a great introductory activity (by using inductive reasoning), application or review activity. Although designed for use in level one, it also makes a great review for the beginning of Spanish two. Please download the preview to get a better idea of the graphic organizers and vocabulary included (in the preview, all the organizers are on one page, but in the paid version they are one per page). I like to pair this activity with my Task Cards for -er verbs in the Present Tense.
