This behavior system develops strong habits of work and provides students with the skills necessary to be independent learners.
The reminder system was designed to help teachers and students maximize the amount of learning time that can occur for all students during a classroom period. When used school wide, it is a powerful tool that puts students in charge of monitoring their attending skills for the key habits of community: responsibility, determination and participation. This document describes how to appropriately use the reminder system from a teacher’s point of view and includes rubrics designed to help students develop their own habits of community.
In addition, I have added classroom rubrics and checklists for each of the three habits of work. There is also a list of work time guidelines for your students to follow.
