PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Through the mixing of different colors of clay, the students will learn how the early languages from Italy, France, Spain, Romania and Portugal became their corresponding Romance language counterparts. The students will take red clay, representing Latin, and mix it with each of the clay colors representing these five early languages. They will then try to separate the now bi-colored ball, but will be unable to. This will show that Latin is inseparable from the languages of these modern countries, and that the resulting mixtures are what we call the 'Romance' languages.
