A Close Look at the North Carolina Constitutions by No Fluff, Good Stuff
If you are a fourth grade teacher in North Carolina and need activities for Constitution Day, this product is for you! The focus of this product is a cut and paste activity whereby students categorize information that relates to each of the three Constitutions of North Carolina. The phrases to categorize and the mat on which to glue the phrases are provided. A list of vocabulary words related to this study of the Constitutions is also included – one with definitions and one without. A fill-in-the-blank activity is included to aid in the vocabulary study. Keys are provided for the activities. Students will need access to the Internet to complete the cut and paste activity as well as access to an online dictionary or dictionaries for the vocabulary activity. If your students do not have access to the Internet, you could provide copies of the each of the three Constitutions. If it is necessary to provide copies of the Constitutions for your students, it may be more feasible to make the activities part of a center/learning station – as the Constitutions are lengthy and would require lots of copying (65 pages-front side only). The cut and paste activity requires that students become familiar with the Constitutions. Therefore, as a teacher, you will need to plan 3 to 5 class periods to complete the activities. Within this product there is a list of suggestions for teachers that would help these learning activities go smoothly.
