This packet is part of the Verbal Apraxia series. It is typically used after the "Prequel". It contains 3 transition activities that help bridge the production of isolated sounds and the production of consonant sounds in words. The targets are CV/VC and CVCV combinations in nonsense syllables. Included are 15 sound picture cards, multiple vowel cards, and fun sensory activities that allow kids to use the motor modality that facilitates vocalization. Detailed directions are included with each activity.
The first activity is entitled “Let’s Recycle”. It uses the recyclable items of cans, plastic bottles, newspapers, aluminum cans, and cardboard boxes for the vowels. After they are combined with consonant sounds, they are placed in colored recycling bins.
The second activity is called “Let’s Fly Away”. A colorful plane and helicopter fly to different vowel clouds for CV/VC combinations.
In “Collect the Eggs” students gather and give ‘silly names’--CVCV combinations--to colorful vowel eggs from the hen house. The eggs are then collected into a basket.
