An abundance of language components are targeted in this activity. Your kids will be in the Thanksgiving mood before you know it.
Basic concepts: There are color and black and white versions. Read the word on the turkey. Have the student place the turkey in correct place in correlation to the pilgrim girl.
Describing: Use the organizer on page 5 to jot down describing components of a turkey. Then write them down in a paragraph on page 6.
Following Directions: Give each student a table setting ( 4 included ) and food cards ( 4 sets included ). Students must follow your directions as put the correct on the plate in the correct order.
Vocabulary ( 8 words ). Have students make the definition to the Thanksgiving word. There is a small matching picture of the word in the lower right hand corner for students to self check. As a review, as students draw a Thanksgiving word and state the definition. Use the coloring page ( pg 17) as a
reinforcement page for correct responses.
Reinforcement Coloring Page: After a student answers a question correctly they can color a portion of the Thanksgiving feast.
Synonyms (8 pairs ): Have students match the synonym cards. Matching pairs have the same pictures. After they have matched the pairs have students read the story and fill in the blank with the
some of the synonyms they just matched together. Once they are done they may color the pilgrim girl.
Antonyms (8 pairs ): Have students match the antonym cards. Matching pairs have the same pictures. After they have matched the pairs have students read the story and fill in the blank with the some of the antonyms they just matched together. Once they are done they may color the cornucopia.
Comprehension Sentences (16 cards ): Have students read or listen to the information and question on the card. A visual of the answer is provided on the card.
