38 word puzzle based on Act 3 of the play by Henrik Ibsen. These are important words from the text which students should be familiar with for discussion and analysis of it.
Words in the puzzle are..abyss, appease, bride, captivating, cherish, conscience, consternation, delirious, desert, despair, duty, endure, excuse, falsehood, forbid, forsake, fortune, fragile, heartless, hypocrite, incredible, jilt, lucrative, principles, prudent, punish, repent, reproach, repudiate, risk, sacrifice, shame, shelter, suicide, trust, ungrateful, unreasonable, and unscrupulous.
This is the type of activity that you could use with early finishers, or give to a sub teacher, or use as a filler on a day when you have nothing else prepared. Although students often see the puzzle format as a fun task, it is an active learning activity. It focuses attention on words which students should understand (and should be able to spell).
A word bank is included to support students. You could redact this to make the puzzle more challenging.
The solution is included.
