Henrik Ibsen's realistic drama A Doll's House is a staple in World Literature Courses. This is an after-reading activity that allows students to get creative! It asks students to write "Act IV" of the play since Ibsen's play is pretty open ended with Nora leaving Torvald.
This assignment/project also asks students to tap into the elements of a realistic drama, adhering to the characteristics of realism (the 7 characteristics are in the file under "teacher notes").
This file also contains a rubric with which to grade the assignment!
This is an awesome way to incorporate creative writing into the curriculum! At the same time, it asks students to incorporate what they learned throughout the unit! It works great as an after-reading activity (homework) or even an end-of-the-unit project!
