We celebrated FALL in my speech room with this versatile, open ended art activity, and I thought you need it, too!
I use these 2 printables along with various apple themed activities and stories.
This download includes:
► An apple scene to dot paint (or use with magnetic style tokens)
I use bingo style daubers. Have students perform a task (like answer a question from a story, perform a fluency strategy, read a sight word, or articulate a sound) then allow him/her to dot an apple...or more than 1 apple. I like to use green, yellow and red dot paint. You could also have them place magnetic style tokens over the apples. You can leave the apples blank/as is, but I recommend writing sight words, math problems, articulation words for drill, etc. on the apples. This greatly motivates the kids to complete the task! After students perform the task on the apple, allow them to dot paint the apple. You could also have students color them in if you don’t have bingo paint daubers!! This is the perfect activity for groups because students can color the scene while they wait their turn to work with the therapist or teacher.
► A colored tree scene
After reading or learning about how apples grow on trees, I give each student this page. Laminate the page if I want to reuse it. Then I have students draw apples on it with a dry erase marker, add pom pom “apples” to it, or roll playdoh into “apples” to place on the tree. It serves as a great follow up activity for little ones with busy hands.
The possibilities are endless! If you use it in a different way, I’d love to hear about it!! Give me a shout out on social media and/or leave feedback after purchasing. Your feedback is what keeps me creating!
