A Fine, Fine School by Sharon Creech is a low prep unit for reading groups. The author uses hyperbole to show the humorous downside of attending a school too often and depicts how extra work does not always mean more learning.
This resource includes multiple activities that support standard reading skills, and I use this story to enhance my tall tale unit, but it can be used to supplement Journeys Unit 1, Lesson 1. You may not have time to complete every activity included in this product; pick and choose a few that work for your group.
