Page 5 Some Fine, Fine Spelling – unscramble each spelling word and write it correctly on the dashes provided
Pg. 6 Spelling Art – roll the dice to see what color to write your spelling word – write each spelling word four times
Pg. 8-10 Story Structure – copy pages A and B back to back, fold on the solid lines and cut on the dotted lines, fill in the information
Pg. 11-16 A Pocket Full of Characters – copy pages A and B back to back to form a book – cut out and glue the boxes into the book – glue only the bottom and sides to form pockets – decide which characters belong in each setting box - cut out the character cards - illustrate them and label them – place them into the correct setting pocket
Pg. 17 Roll a Silly Sentence - roll the dice to see which subject to write – roll the dice again to see which predicate to write – write them together on a line below to form a silly sentence – repeat until all 5 lines are filed up
Pg. 18-20 Cut a Sentence – cut out each sentence strip – cut the sentence between the subject and the predicate – glue the subject onto the Cut a Sentence chart – glue the subject on the left side and the predicate on the right side
Pg. 21 Use It! – use your vocabulary words in a paragraph/story to show their meaning
Pg. 22-27 My Fine, Fine School writing project – copy off the backpack, pocket, and cover of the notebook on various colored construction paper, add 18in by 1in backpack straps – Write a topic sentence on the first page and as many supporting sentences as needed on the middle pages and end with a closing sentence – staple the notebook together and put it in the pocket of your backpack to be displayed in the hall
Pg. 28-30 My Comprehension Flip It! – copy pages A and B back to back, fold on the solid line and cut on the dotted lines, fill out
Pg. 31-34 Multiple Meaning Words! – copy pages A and B back to back – cut on the dotted lines, think of words that have more than one meaning – flip the pencils over and write the word and use it a sentence to show the meaning – write the word again in the second box and use it in a sentence to show a different meaning – cut out the pencil holder and glue the bottom and side to form a pocket – put your multiple meaning pencils into the pencil holder
Pg. 35-37 What I Learned… - copy pages A and B back to back and fold on the two outer lines to form doors – write a list of things you learn at school and a list of things you learn at home
