Story Structure and Actions Affecting the Story: Now you can easily create an amazing anchor chart combined with easy lessons to engage your students! This beginning-of-the-year packet makes learning the elements of story structure (Setting, Characters, Problem, Solution) easy for you to teach and your students to learn. The packet include I do, we do, and you do lessons, student reference sheet of character traits including definitions, and a student assessment. Clip art and titles are included for the first four stories in the Journey’s third grade book all to be incorporated onto one sheet of chart paper. If you do not use Journeys, you can easily incorporate the ideas here with any other stories. By returning to the same lesson over a month long period (or more), your students will master these skills.
Stories covered: A Fine, Fine School

With just two color pages of clipart, you will create a beautiful and memorable anchor chart for your class. Students will master the elements of story structure and also be able to explain how a character’s actions affect events in the story.
