This is a member of 55 other activity templates that are based on the Multiple Intelligence Theory. This template focuses on the linguistic, interpersonal or the intrapersonal intelligences. It is designed to be a cooperative learning activity for middle school students but you can delete step one that has the student roles if you want them to do it individually.
This activity starts off with choosing the roles each student will do: writer, reader, taskmaster and timekeeper. It then reminds the students to read the rubric. It then asks the students to write a friendly letter from whomever you input to whomever you input. After that it has a section for you to input the content you want the students to use. Finally, it reminds the students to revise the friendly letter. Each of these steps has appropriate time limits to help guide the students along and keep them focused on the task. A rubric is provided to help you grade.
