In order to review circumference, create a 'Circumonster:'
1. CIRCUMFERENCE: The circumference of your CIRCUMONSTER has to have a mane of nasty-looking hair
2. CENTER POINT: The center point of your CIRCUMONSTER has to have a big, ugly- looking nose
3. RADIUS: The radius (from center point to edge) of your CIRCUMONSTER has to be something oozing out of the nose all the way to the edge – ewwww!!
4. DIAMETER: Because our CIRUMONSTERS have been through a lot, the diameter (from one edge to another – crossing through the center) are stitches that go all the way across the CIRCUMONSTERS face!
The students loved making their 'Circumonster' and it helped them to remember the characteristics of circles. Hang them around the classroom to scare others away! :)
*This is a great Hallowee/Fall activity!
