Do you want to get your life back? Use this guide to restore your sanity and get your weekends back!
I am convinced that most teachers are spending too much time on work-related tasks and not enough time enjoying life. I am convinced about this because I was one of these teachers, and I worked with many of them, too. I even have a friend who left the profession because she just wanted her weekends back. And spend any time listening to a teacher and you will see that they spend ridiculous amounts of time at home grading and preparing lesson plans and trying to organize themselves.
Now that we have pinterest, many teachers have found help with organizing their classrooms physically (hello, storage bins and pretty binder tabs), yet are still spending their weekends grading and looking up resources instead of enjoying their time off. I was trying to find resources that help teachers prioritize their teaching and organizing their time spent on work-related tasks, and I really couldn’t find anything.
That’s why I created this guide to prioritizing and organizing your professional life. In it, you will:
--Create a vision,
--Evaluate the time you spend on various tasks,
--Work toward working for a purpose,
--Set big goals based on your vision,
--Create effective to-do lists,
--Learn how to deal with the “fizzle,” and
--Get tips for where to start with physical organization of your classroom.
This is not a quick and easy fix to all of your organizational needs. This guide will help you to change your mindset regarding the work that you do and how you work toward accomplishing your professional goals. If you are willing to be thoughtful and persistent, I believe that you can get ahold of your work life and live a life of balance and sanity.
