Welcome to the city of Ancient Athens!
Using the website included in this file, students will take a self-guided tour through the city, finding out about many important buildings to Athenian society. As students explore the city, their booklet asks them to do a quick sketch of the buildings and write down important facts about that building: the role each building had or why the people of Athens needed that particular building. By the end of this assignment, students should have an understanding of the major buildings in Ancient Greece as well as knowledge about the roles that men and women had in daily life.
Enclosed are 4 separate versions of the same assignment, made for differing needs in my classroom. They come as an electronic file, so they can be edited to suit the needs of your classroom. I give my students a 2-3 class periods to complete their guided tour.
