Start off your next photomontage project with a little bit of context for the medium! As art teachers, it's our responsibility to expose students to a variety of art forms and visual artists, and this presentation does just that. Use this as a tool for discussion or as an expository lesson on the steps that collage and photomontage took throughout the 20th century. From Hannah Hoch to Eugenia Loli, Pablo Picasso to Robert Rauschenburg, students will get plenty of insight into the artists who defined collage, the combine, and photomontage. While this presentation was used for middle school students, it could easily be adapted for High School lessons.
