In this activity students practice identifying common words that are homophones. Students choose a bubble stick with the word on it (looks like the ones that come in your bottle of bubbles) and then have to find the bubble with the picture of the correct homophone to make a match! Or, another variation is that students have to match a blue bubble wand to a pink bubble wand to find the correct homophone! Lots of different ways to use this activity! It is a great hands on activity to help your students practice homophones. This file contains a homophones poster that can be hung in the room as a resource/reference for students. This file also contains two additional activities. One activity is cut and paste which is just like the hands on activity with the bubble sticks and bubbles. The other includes choosing two homophones, drawing a picture of each one, and writing a sentence using each word.
