This two page vocabulary worksheet has 3 sections with 10 words in each part: Part 1: laurel, acclivity, summit, salient, spur, rat-trap, submission, regiment, sentinel, perilous; Part 2: vigilance, apprise, leonine, conceive, resolution, languor, colossal equestrian, aerial, formidableness; Part 3: accoutrement, caparison, carbine, pommel, eminence, commemorate, verge, sublimity, bivouac & Apocalypse. Each of the 3 sections contain the word in a quoted sentence or clause, copied from the text as the author uses it in the story. The next part has a word bank and definitions where the students have to write the vocabulary word next to the correct definition and identify the part of speech as it is used.
