Here are word cards that can be put in order for the nursery rhyme, Jack And Jill.
Preparation: Print, cut and laminate the small cards and the longer rhyme/line cards.
Whole Group…Pass out small cards to students. Read a line from one of the rhyme/line cards. Count the number of words in each line. Have students bring up the words from the rhyme/line cards and create the rhyme/line on a sentence pocket chart at a time. Repeat procedure until the entire rhyme is displayed. (You can also laminate the cards and attach magnets to the back so that you can put the cards on your white board to create the rhyme.) Discuss rhyming words and have students point out the rhyming words on the board.
Small Group…Pass out the small rhyme/line cards to students. Place the word pieces upside down (like you would have for a matching game). Each student will take turns looking for cards that that belong with his/her rhyme/line card.
