Here are 2 versions of a poem I wrote for Kindergarten Graduation or for the last day of Kindergarten. Another Kindergarten teacher from TPT (Becky Castle….The Barefoot Teacher) asked me to write a poem for her to give to her students at the end of school which incorporated a reference to a first day of school activity she did with flashlights. I wrote a poem, and then I tweaked it to fit my class or any class who doesn’t do a similar beginning of the year activity. For more information about her activity, you would have to contact her at TPT or at her blog: http://beckycastlethebarefootteacher.blogspot.com/
I added the poem I wrote for her just in case you decide that you want to have your students do something special with flashlights on the first day of school. At the end of the poem, I left a space for you to sign your name.
I suggest going to the Dollar Store and purchasing flashlights for your students (you could also purchase flashlights at orientaltrading.com). I made the smaller versions of the poem so that you can print, cut, hole punch, and attach them with ribbon to the flashlights.
Although there are 8 slides, you would probably use only 2 pages...a version of the poem in a larger version and the same version in a smaller version. You have the choice of printing in either color or black and white.
