I created this word wall with the intent of having the pages blown up to an 18” by 12” poster size. The letter strips on the beginning pages are meant to be cut into thirds once the poster has been made. Hang the 3 section alphabet strip in alphabetical order with the corresponding word wall page underneath. I made these for cabinet doors in my classroom, but they would hang well on a wall.
I added an extra section of “th” words next to the letter “Tt” section, because there are so many “Tt” words and not enough space! Also, I added words to my “Xx” section that have the letter “x” at the end or in the middle of the word.
Warning: I like to have harder words available on my word wall to help with my differentiated instruction. Many of the words are much harder than typical Kindergarten words, but there is a yellow star marking the sight words: a, and, are, as, be, by, can, come, do, for, from, go, good, has, have, he, help, here, his, I, is, like, little, look, me, my, of, one, or, play, said, see, she, to, too, the, they, this, want, was, we, what, where, who, with, you.
I am including a set of the words in a smaller version that have the letters on the same page as the words that can be used for easier printing, or combined into a word wall list booklet for your students.
