Movie Synopsis: During World War II when all the men are fighting the war, most of the jobs that were left vacant because of their absence were filled in by women. The owners of the baseball teams, not wanting baseball to be dormant indefinitely, decide to form teams with women. Despite many odds and several obstacles, the effort was a success.
Student Experience: Before watching, students will read a historical informational text regarding the history of women's baseball. During and after the movie, students will be practicing analyzing skills such as theme, conflict, and setting. After the movie, they complete a constructed response prompt.
