Sometimes a teacher just needs a tangible way to show the harmful effects of bullying...this is mine. I call it "The Apple Activity". The premise is simple enough but the message behind the lesson is the most powerful message in anti-bullying I have used in my own classroom to date.
Words hurt. A lot. That's why when you can visually show the harmful effects on tangible inanimate object the impact is that much greater.
I have included step-by-step directions and the materials needed for this activity as well as helpful writing resources to extend the lesson after you are done. A lot of things can be modified to put your own spin on the lesson...which I hope you do!! When students identified with the message it is incredible to watch. Feel free to modify and adjust the lesson as needed. It can truly be used k-12 depending on the group you are targeting.
If you have an idea for an worksheet/handout or would like one of the sheets modified just shoot me a message and I am happy to work something out :)
