Students can wage their own version of a letter war by practicing letter naming. Students choose a strip of letters, read them quickly and accurately and then place them with the Galaxy character of their choosing. At the end of the game, the character with the most strips of letters wins the battle, war or game (whatever you choose to label it!). There are 9 different characters with directions on how to make containers for the strips of letters. There are 24 different strips of letters, capital and lowercase letters mixed, to practice letter naming and letter naming fluency. In addition, there are 4 Roll and Reads (with the same characters) more practice.
This is a great game for Whole Group fun and practice; excellent for small group letter naming practice and a great addition to your literacy center activities.
