PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

One of the most important documents in understanding the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr is the letter he wrote while he was jailed in Birmingham, Jail. This first lesson provides students with the opportunity to learn about the historical background of what was occurring in Birmingham, Alabama at the time and also engage in the ability to read and respond to text dependent questions designed to engage students in thinking and understanding key ideas of the document. This is the first of two parts to the lesson. I broke the speech up in half when teaching it to my students.
