Product Description
"Our language is funny: A 'fat chance' and a 'slim chance' are the same thing." J. Gustav White (American YMCA Education Secretary ~ 1881 - 1979)

Looking for a way to get students excited those first few days of school ?

I use Dr. Elliot Engel's DVD entitled 'A Light History of the English Language' and the follow-along question sheet which I created to go with it.

It has 25 follow-along questions in English. Also included is a 7-page introductory overhead about how the English language evolved over time. The video is in English.

Dr. Engel then explains in his video with his delightful sense of humor how English developed from French and German influences to the language we speak today.

Please note that Dr. Engel's DVD is available on his website - www.ProfessorEngel.com - and is not part of this product.

Click A Light History Of The English Language to read more.

Everything here is ready to use:

* A 7-page introductory overhead in English
* A follow-along question sheet with 25 questions in English
* An answer key

so that, in that first week of school, you can capture the attention of your students and light that spark of learning. (13 pages)
