Product Description
6.W.1 Write arguments with clear reasons and relevant evidence to support claims made.

Part One - After reading the first 10 chapters of "A Long Walk to Water", students will give clear reasons why Salva is seen as a weak person (physically and/or mentally) and why Salva is seen as a strong person (physically and/or mentally). Each reason is supported with evidence from the text.

Part Two - Students will then analyze the reasons and evidence that they have come up with, and choose a side (Salva is a weak person or Salva is a strong person). They will then write an argumentative paragraph using a graphic organizer (included) that argues the claim that they chose.

Product comes with Part One and Two (both regular version and a modified version for special needs students) as well as rubrics for the final draft (regular and modified).
