Make thinking visible in your classroom by having student complete a number of Thinking Routines. These routines are based on routines shared in Making Thinking Visible by Karin Morrison, Mark Church, and Ron Ritchhart. They have been modified to meet the needs and requirements of secondary students. Students will be asked to complete pre-novel Chalk Talks and Zoom In and Notice and Wonder activities, identify central ideas by completing Word-Phrase-Sentence activities, and share Headlines with supporting evidence. Explanations of each routine and student samples are provided within the slides.
All activities are based on the novel A Long Walk to Water but can be used with any text!
