Why I like teaching
May the great General take pride after every winning war, but it is the Unknown Soldier who wins the war. Like the General, may the system feel proud to frame plans and policies, but it is the unknown teacher who delivers them. Being in this profession since last 10 years, I have learnt the basics of education, developed my level of tolerance and patience in making students confident at their own standard of understanding. I believe every day is a new day and every child is a new experiment. Every student tests my style of explanation, language and its presentation. They are our real judges. I have made my efforts to make my students self reliant, encouraged them to find their own source of assistance. An independent student assures me a brighter future ahead. My regular preparation for class reminds me my yesteryear's teachers, my most favorite books, day-today happenings in my surrounding and many more. I remember one sentence of my father (my model teacher)- “teaching once is learning many times”.
This noble service can be a source of inspiration for millions today and tomorrow. A country’s level of development can be measured by how her teachers are respected and regarded in the society. Teachers stand at par with parents. This is the real sign of inspiration for a teacher, more than this what else a human may dream at. With faster modernization today we have changed our style of presentation, skill and motivation for students, still a true teacher has no parallel. With these words I sum up that it is my good fortune to be a part of this profession.
