This product is inspired by "Making Thinking Visible" by Ritchart, Church, and Morris. It is a graphic organizer designed to lead students to deeper thinking and facilitate TRUTH SEEKING. Who wouldn't want their students to be more discriminating readers? This routine facilitates this and teaches students to consider the view points, angling, and motivations of a writer. The graphic organizer is black and white and coordinates with Wild Child Design's other Making Thinking Visible products. There is a lined version of the graphic organizer, too. Teacher notes are also included with this product.
I use Red Light, Yellow Light when I want to explore controversy with my students, because it helps students examine a writer's hidden motivations. It is a PERFECT compliment to persuasive writing units, social studies topics, editorials, and political speeches.
This product is also part of a growing bundle in Wild Child Designs' store. That means you can buy it and other visible thinking organizers at a set price. I will continue to add to that growing bundle and you get the updates for free! Check it out!
