This document contains everything that you need to inform your students’ parents about how to implement an effective home literacy program. The packet is ready to be printed and sent home with your students. Pages one and two provide an overview of the “reading menu” – each component is then defined in detail on a later page, with explanations of what it is, why it is important, and tips for parents on developing that competency at home. Topics covered include fluency, accuracy and expression, word knowledge, enjoyment and interest, and comprehension. See the preview file for a sample of what the document looks like and the type of information included in the file.
