Are you looking for a fun activity to do with Shakespeare? Do you want to laugh and watch students delve into plot and characterization in one of Shakespeare's comedies?
The character panel is one of the best projects I've ever done and students really get into it! I truly enjoy watching the creativity of students and I laugh during every panel. Not only is this lesson fun, but it addresses many common core standards and provokes critical thinking and rich discussions.
In this panel, students act as characters from A Midsummer Night's Dream in a panel and answer questions that their fellow classmates pose to them. This is a modified version of a Socratic Seminar that allows students to infer and think critically about the characters and plot. I like to explain to students that it is like a panel on ESPN or Jerry Springer.
