This mini script is an adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, with scenes from Acts II, III, and IV. It involves the interactions between Oberon, Titania, Puck, the fairies, and Nick Bottom, along with the flowers full of the love potion and its antidote. The words all belong to Shakespeare. I have edited the scenes to include the lines that are easiest for children to speak and understand while still getting the storyline across. A brief synopsis of the play is included to give the context for the scenes in the script. Performance time is about eight minutes. The cast consists of eight characters.
Enjoy having your students read the script aloud...or perform it in a program! Check out the preview!
This mini script is geared for 3rd-5th graders, but could be used with middle and high school students as well.
