This unit can be used in whole group, small group, or centers as well as homework.
Print pages 3, 6, and 9 and laminate. These work as sorting mats for the noun center. Then print slides, 4 & 5, 7 & 8, and 10 & 11, laminate and cut out the cards. These cards can be used in small group for struggling students or as an independent center.
*Teacher tip: place a different color sticker on the sorting mats and on the back of the cards so that students can check
their answers easily.
Writing at the K level can be very difficult, which is why I created this mini unit for my Ks. They have been struggling with writing and this has helped so much!
Page 12: Print enough for each student, double sided if you would like (and great for early finishers to complete another!) and have students choose a person, place or thing to draw. The students write what they are drawing on the line, draw their picture and then label it. If you have students that are ready to write, you can let them write in any of the extra space that they may have!
Page 13: This can be used after students have mastered drawing 1 noun and are ready to write about the noun. This can also be doubled sided for your early finishers! Both page 12 & 13 can be placed in centers also.
Pages 14 & 15: Print page 14, 1 copy for each student, and page 15 for half the amount of students in your classroom. Students cut and paste the pictures into the correct place on the sorting mat, people, places, things to add a visual to help them see the differences.
