Use this word document as a center or mini-lesson to practice sequencing with your students. The short story is clearly sequenced so print it out and then cut it into parts and mix them up. If you want to use it with multiple groups, you can print several copies and/or laminate it. I like to read a book that is easy to sequence first to teach the skill and talk about my own thinking (something like "Three Little Pigs" or "Rosie's Walk." Then, I give students the mixed up story and have them put it in order and ask them to tell it in order. This gives me a quick check on which students understand the concept. Could also be used for a Literacy Center or Station.
