From World Beyond the Classroom: A Nature Hike and Seek is an opportunity for your students to go outside your classroom walls and explore nature in your schoolyard, local park or nearby natural area.
This activity can be adapted for students grades PreK-5 and can be done at various times throughout the school year. Fall is a great time to look for seeds, nuts and changing leaves. Spring is a great time to look for nests, flowers and budding trees. In this activity, your class will take a nature walk, work in teams to check off scavenger hunt items, and then will collect items to bring back to the classroom to sort, classify and use in an art activity.
