Here’s what’s included:
Celebrating My Year of Achievements:
Students will brainstorm and generate a list of achievements they accomplished in the last year.
Celebrating My Most Memorable Achievements:
After completing the “Celebrating My Year of Achievements” activity, students will select their six most memorable achievements from their list. Using a web organizer, students will elaborate and write about each of their accomplishments in complete sentences.
Celebrating Our Achievements:
Students will interview their classmates to learn about their peers’ accomplishments from the last year. Students will share their six most memorable achievements with a partner and sign their name next to one of their achievements on their classmate’s recording sheet. Extend the activity and have students reflect on four of their peer interviews.
My Goals for the New Year:
Generate a class discussion about why people set goals and explain that a new year’s resolution is a goal for the new year. Students will use the graphic organizer to brainstorm and create four goals for the new year. Then students will choose two goals to write about. Two versions of the brainstorming sheet are included for differentiation.
My New Year’s Resolution
Primary and intermediate publishing templates and grading rubric are included.
Please note: Color and black and white versions included.
