This Valentine's Day Writing Project is fun for students and no-prep for the teacher. Students will choose a writing prompt. Then, they will write a rough draft and edit it with a partner. Finally, students will write final drafts and create a simple display for their final draft. This project makes a beautiful and festive hallway display.
I created this writing project because I noticed that many of my 5th graders, especially the boys, were visibly uncomfortable during the usual Valentine’s Day festivities. I wanted to do a fun Valentine’s Day writing activity but I didn’t want it to be mushy sweet. So, I created this not-so-sweet writing project.
