I teach at-risk 8th graders who usually do not like reading, but they love this project. I have turned the most common analysis questions found in reading curriculum into a fun Project-Based Learning activity for students. I have my students pick a "Book Club" novel of their choice to read and create the game. This is our end of year activity after state testing because it is engaging, but could also be used with any novel in any lit class throughout the year.
Great for differentiation--for struggling students, just cut down the number of cards or give them access to Schmoop to help them with their analysis. Have high-level students create their own cards using these only as examples.
