This is a custom-made, ready-to-use, 70 page packet for teachers to use with students in grades 5-8 who are reading the 2016 book, Counting Thyme, by Melanie Conklin. Included is a 29 page student workbook, an answer key, a list of teacher online resources, and a listing of common core standards
(both Literature and Writing) supported in the packet.
The student workbook divides the text into six reading assignments of about 45-50 pages each. Along with each assignment are 4 pages of activities to go along with the reading. They include:
similes, idioms, onomatopoeia, metaphors, hyperbole,
understanding character traits
The workbook is designed for independent work; that way students can have directed work while the teacher is working on small group or individual instruction. Also, the teacher can have a parent or an aide use the workbook as a guide to be able to direct student performance and understanding or to conduct small group discussions of the book. Questions and tasks in the workbook are intended to prompt high level thinking and quality group discussions.
I also have an end-of-book quiz for sale separately in my store. Click here
