This is a creative writing unit that focuses around a central motif of color. We all know that writers use colors to convey emotion, psychology, mood and focus. Like these authors, students will use colors as a springboard to write poems, descriptions and scenes. Lessons include two different poems, several workshop activities including the writing of synesthesia and imagery, a description comparing color to emotion, and other brainstorming activities. The packet can be used in succession or as individual lessons.
