Are you teaching your students about upper and lowercase letters, or are you reading stories with monkeys or palm trees in them? I created a single, printable page for students to use for practicing all of the letters of the alphabet. I also created alphabet cards to accompany this sheet (both capital and lowercase). I like to use this at the beginning of the school year around August or September. This is also a nice activity incorporating the use of a science tool during your reading block.
Use the cards in your small group before the students complete the printable. Mix up the cards and show each card to your students. Have them say the name and sound of each letter. Go through the cards a second time and have the students find and mark that letter on their papers. Then you can have students sort these cards into 2 groups (capital letters and lowercase letters).
Students will use a magnifying glass to find all of the capital and lowercase letters. They will circle all of the capital letters with a green marker and all of the lowercase letters with an orange marker.
Please view the small viewing windows to the right as the entire download can be seen there. The only addition are the rest of the alphabet letters...all capitals and lowercase.
