How many times do we hear from parents that our students are telling them they learned "nothing" at school or that they just tell their parents, "I don't know" when they ask them about their day? This little tool for communication can be used so parents aren't left guessing or digging for information. You can place these cute slips of paper for boys and girls in an area of the room or pass them out at the end of the day to be completed. There are four different styles the children can choose from in order to tell about something they learned, something they did, or how they feel. I plan to make many copies and cut them on the dotted lines and have them sorted and stored in a way the children can choose which slip they want to complete for the day. Use it as a writing center activity, a ticket out the door, or an "I am done, what do I do now" filler. I hope you can find a use for this tool in your classroom.
