NOTE: The EDITABLE TEXT BOXES Do not show up in preview file but they are there. Promise! (You can see them in Thumbnails)
I've used this EDITABLE weekly reminder for years and have now made it available in an editable form to you! It's been a lifesaver in so many ways! A Peek into our Week was designed to strengthen your home/school partnership while helping to hold kids/families more accountable for hw, items due, etc. I feel it has saved me time by not having to write reminders throughout the week and has cut down on parent emails/calls regarding things that they can find the answer to IN the form. (Example: If I write "Early dismissal Thursday at 11:30," it eliminates all of the "What time are they getting out?" emails/calls.
You can use this TWO ways…pick what’s best for you!
The Way I Use It:
I DO NOT use this as my newsletter but use it in ADDITION TO it. (Don’t panic…it only takes five minutes to write! Honest!) This is where I remind parents of what’s coming up, make announcements, layout HW for the week, or write something that’s been on my mind. (Ex: After seeing too many unhealthy snacks, I’d offer a quick reminder.) While I love my newsletters, I send them via email (school policy) and I’m not convinced they are read well or, sadly, at all by some parents. I type this up (five minutes, honest!) and send it home in folders every Monday. Parents appreciate the quick overview and insights and it gives them info for dinner talk each evening.
A Second Way to Use It:
As your newsletter! At the end of each day, write a simple summary and save it. If you do this each day, you’ll be sure to get out a weekly newsletter five minutes after the bell rings on Friday. (If you are emailing this to parents, I would stick to a universal font so it looks as you intended it to look when it arrives at their inbox.)
There are "anytime" themes as well as monthly themes included. A nice variety with 16 templates to choose from.
I honestly feel this is a must-have for your classroom! I've had a major increase in homework handed in, items requested sent in from home, deadlines met, etc. All because of this handy dandy reminder that you send home weekly! My newsletters are usually more in-depth and these things usually get lost in them. A nice way to remind parents.
Thanks for looking!
