Product Description
Are you looking for a meaningful way for your students to reflect on their learning? This is a fun way for students to recap their learning, either through written response or orally. The sentence frames provide students with direction for their thinking. The activity can be independent by calling on students to respond orally, whole class by displaying the sentence frame to guide their writing, or as a partner/group discussion. Simply say "A Penny For Your Thought!"..and students know you that you want them provide a meaningful response to their learning.

Included in this product:
-Display Sign: "A Penny For Your Thought"
-28 reflection sticks (cut, laminate, and/or put on a tongue depressor)
-Directions on how to implement in the classroom

Some reflection stick sentence frames...
-I can apply what I learned today in my life by...
-Something that my teacher does to help me learn is...
-A goal that I have for the next lesson is...
-I think we are learning about ________ because....
-I would rate my level of understanding a (1-10) because....

*Teacher Tip:
-I use this as a way for students to reflect on their learning after a lesson, or at the end of the day. I announce "Penny for your thought!" and pick a student randomly. The student comes up front and picks a stick. The student reads the stick aloud, and then provides their reflection in a complete sentence. I then award them with a penny to put in my skittle-filled gumball machine. Great for reflection, and speaking skills practice as well!
