Pg. 3 – 12: Comprehension Questions: Have your students answer these questions after reading the book. Includes 30 question cards and 30 answer cards. Print double-sided back-to-back for self-checking.
Pg. 13 – 15: Story Retell: Use page 13 and 14 to prompt students to discuss or draw the various story elements. Page 15 can be cut apart and used as a sequencing activity.
Pg. 16 – 17: Dear Turkey: Have students write a letter persuading a turkey to join them for Thanksgiving dinner.
Pg. 18 – 28: Talkin’ Turkey: Activities targeting Thanksgiving vocabulary.
Pg. 29: Go-Togethers: Draw a line between the two pictures that begin with the same sound
Pg. 30 – 43: “Turkey Dressing”: printable mini-reader book. On each page, students describe what the turkey is dressed up as. On the last page, students can draw their own costume. There are two versions of this book – color and black/white.
Pg. 44: Thankful Cards: Cut apart the cards. Have students write the things they are thankful for on the lines.
Pg. 45 – 50: Gobble Up Some Fun: Reinforcement activities include jokes, tic-tac-toe, secret code, and mazes.
Pg. 51 – 55: Turkey Feathers Token Boards: Motivational reinforcement game. Students need to collect all the feathers in their turkey’s color. Instructions included on pg. 51.
